Pick of The Week – New Album From Haim

The eagerly anticipated second album by Haim is due to be released on the 7th of July. We can’t wait to hear the next musical installment from this American soft pop rock trio. Their award winning first album ‘Days Are Gone’ was released in 2013 and rocketed the sisters onto the worldwide music scene. ‘Something To Tell You’ is the name of their new album, and I am sure that it will be just as highly celebrated.

The sisters Este, Danielle and Alana write and produce all their songs. This is one reason why we have had to wait patiently for this album. Another is that they are perfectionists about their music and have to fit writing time into their hectic touring schedule.

Haim are well known for teasing their fans. To get us all excited they put up a bunch of mysterious billboards in London, Berlin, L.A. and Sydney before finally announcing the release of this second album.

Their first single release from ‘Something To Tell You’ was ‘Right Now’, which came complete with a Paul Thomas Anderson directed teaser video. In an interview with Rolling Stone the group labeled this track as “an ode to boss-ass bitchness”. I’m sure we can all use a dose of that! Later, on the 13th of May the band performed their second single ‘Want You Back’ as well as debuted the song ‘Little Of Your Love’ on Saturday Night Live.

They have promised that this album is “classic song writing, but also modern, exciting and fearless”. I don’t know about you, but if that is what is on offer, it was worth the wait.
